The most overwhelming, sleep deprived, hormone overloaded, helpless time of my life was during the first months of my first daughter’s life. I didn’t trust my instincts enough. I worried constantly. Does she have enough food? Is she warm enough? Is it cool enough in this room? Should I start solids? Should I potty train? Is she ready for daycare? Is she ready for siblings?

I started reading parenting books, browsing blogs and mommy sites. What I needed most, was a manual. Somebody must have figured this thing out and should just tell me how it’s done! In a bullet format preferably.
I read and wept and tried hard to make sense of what made sense.

The manual I created works for my family alone. I don’t want to share the parenting style I believe to be true, approach to learning, food choices or even bed-timing. You will figure it out! And it will be unique to your own family’s needs. When and if it stops working, you will learn more and adjust it to match your desires.

What I concluded was that every single one of us could benefit from the wisdom of others, their struggles, and lessons.
I read a lot, and it helps me reframe assumptions. So I started the MAGIC BOX, a collection of books that changed my life. I have three of them, one for each one of my kids. I will give it to them the day they turn 18, 21 or leave from college. Actually, I haven’t figured out the timing; I will see what feels right.
In the Magic Box are the books that cracked my soul open and made me understand things at a deeper level.
